Hi Elise, I find your work very interesting. Would love to talk to you and LGB Alliance about participating in our Feminists In Struggle National Conference in San Diego area July 5th to 7th. Can you please contact me? Ann Menasche - aemenasche@gmail.com
Ironically, so many people are obsessed with being their “true self”, ignore that the main requirement for that journey is self acceptance of our immutable characteristics.
Children are victims of the agenda, not the ones driving it. What benefit is there for the gay community to be on good terms with the homophobic ideology of the TQ+? There is no reason or need for the LGB community to be on good terms with the TQ+ community, it only serves to harm us. We don't have to be at war with them but they have nothing to do with us, never have, never will.
While your point is well taken about "one community" the thing you seem to be missing is same-sex people still have no codified rights. Until that occurs the one community of the LGB serves a single communal civil rights purpose. Once that occurs there may be a different conversation to have, however I still believe that the joint LGB will serve a purpose for those who find value and community in it. Also how exactly do you think we would combat the new-wave homophobia of the TQ+ if not as one same-sex community of the LGB? If that didn't exist this very sub stack wouldn't exist.
I am frankly perplexed by your comments. We are not a community or "moving in unity" with the TQ+; we never have been. The modern TQ+ is a homophobic ideology at its core. That's the crux of the article, and as a whole, this article isn't about them. It's about us. You are focusing on them when that isn't what the article is, making a lot of assumptions, and bringing up topics that were never discussed or addressed in the article you are commenting on. The content of your comments themselves is a different conversation entirely.
The ideology of TQ+ is homophobic. That is always the case. Ideology that erases sex consequently erases sexual orientation and argues against its validity. That is always homophobic.
You know what pisses off more than the TQ+ forcing themselves into everything? People that forcefully lump the LGB into the TQ+ against their will.

Hi Ann, Thanks for your comment, that certainly sounds intriguing! I’ll be in touch shortly.
I have always maintained that "trans" is, inherently, a rejection of homosexuality.
It's always easier to deny reality, no matter who gets hurt in the process...
Agreed.
