Jess, 69 year old lesbian detransitioner, lives "On The Land" & advocates for lesbian community
After living in transition for 30 years, Jess detransitions and returns to lesbian culture. She shares her story with us, and talks (among other things) about generational differences lesbians face.
Jess is a 69 year old lesbian who lived in transition for 30 years and officially detransitioned 8 years ago. In this interview, Jess talks about her transition & detransition experience, as well as the role detransitioners can play in educating and rebuilding lesbian community. We talk about how she integrated herself back into lesbian culture following her detransition, and how she is trying to bring lesbians of all generations together in nature.
As a Land Dyke, Jess would like to invite lesbians, especially ones who are young and/or urban, to get a taste of the “women’s land” experience in rural America. Jess has generously offered to share her email for lesbians interested in reaching out to her about how they can spend more time “on the land.” Here is it: "no1nozz@gmail.com"

Excellent interview. I came out in 1981 as a Butch Dyke and Separatist oriented. I also have visited various Lesbian Lands and Festivals in the woods.
She did not mention Maize which Is a great list serv for Landdykes and those interested in the Landdyke life. They also put out a magazine and a Landdyke list of current Lesbian Lands.
Hers was a very interesting perspective and I met women like her at Michfest and dated a few. Some were so hardcore Butch that ONLY on womens Land or Festivals did they feel they could be themselves. But out in the patriarchal world they felt safest passing as men. Some of those transitioned for very similar reasons to why she did.
Thanks for a fantastic, completely Lesbian centered interview, and I hope it helps any Lesbian who wants to detransition back to her full Female Lesbian Self in all their Butch glory. IT IS very hard to be completely out and Butch. There are many fields closed to us and it was much worse in the 1980s.
I am so afraid we may be headed back to those times.....
